So I found the video of the Full Lock recording, a bunch of dudes in a small kitchen, one chick with a phone camera, I make that Pimms o'clock...

Had the pleasure of popping along to the Kitchen Unit Halloween party, rolled down with the BLK-MLK boys. The place was pretty hectic when we got down but it got alot more rammed as the night went on. Smoke machines, live disco jockeys, alot of drunk people and some amazing fancy dress.

I haven't just been lazy, not doing anything but take photos, I have been doing alot more drawing recently, most of its for my friends bands and record labels but its made me get the pens and pencils out again.

A section of a design I did for my mates in Breaking Point, It was hand printed and folded around their demo CD. I was real happy with the art and the boys sold about 200 copies, screen printing all of them was a hard task!

The design got turned into a shirt too, I hand printed these bad boys, I think I did about 40 in total, 3 colours on the first lot, straight black on the other.

This is my favorite piece of art of late, for my boy Max's new band Wayfarer, Max is mad keen on his history, especially the whole Viking and Anglo Saxon, Celtic deal. He wanted something based on the famous Sutton Hoo helmet, the rest was pretty much up to me, this is the result. Its getting printed and pressed on 12inch record format.

Hello Dave...

A little while back I went down to Brighton for my friend Dave's birthday.

We got a few dudes together and a little BBQ got going, pretty decent food, head chef Lewis was in full effect and didn't burn too much food. Later on after various left overs were thrown about we did some proper DIY gang vocals for Dave's new band. It sounded dam good despite being recorded in a kitchen. If i find the video I'll drop it in.

Its been a long time, I shouldn't have left you...

So I have been slacking on the blog for a while, its been a hectic time with lots of stuff going on and me being too unorganised to cope well enough.

So to get things back on track I got a bunch of things I wana put up. Mainly polaroids I have shot over the past few months, I'm out of film right now so I have been going through old images.

Gone but not forgotten...

This is an absolute waste.

The piece of art being painted over in this video is one of the most famous pieces of art, let alone graffiti ever. It has been an inspiration to millions of upcoming graffiti writers all over the world.

Its now been removed by a government hell bent on destroying any personality and lifestyle a lot of young people have nowadays. Graffiti is big business among modern youth culture and the culture of a lot of older generations. Its been around in a credible form of art since the 70's and has crept its way into the main stream ever since.

A member of the same crew as Saber (the artist behind the buffed piece), has recently work with such people as the L.A Times and other big names in advertising. Saber himself work for the Friends of the L.A River group to paint a mural on a scale model of the river. All artists need to get paid but when the people with the money and power turn on us and begin to push out all the hard work and history of graffiti, its time to stop lending our artwork and amazing talent to their cause.

Luckily Saber's piece has gone beyond the limits of the river and has been captured forever in hundreds of photographs and has been documented in many mainstream books. A great achievement for him and for our art form as a whole.

The piece maybe gone but it, and what it represents lives on and wont be forgotten.

DECKED!!

The Decked Exhibition kicked off last week and I popped down for the party on Thursday night.

A cool time was had by everyone and it was really nice to see so many friends there checking out the work. Almost too many friends as I spent most of the night running round trying to find people and guide stragglers to the gallery. Aside from the stress it was really fun and a good chance to catch up with old faces.

I made some little flyer things that seemed to go in about 15 seconds of putting the out so I guess there are a few more people knowing my name now. Maybe a should have charged for them????

I managed to shoot a few photos with my new found polaroid cam, don't hate me for loving them. I'm just a little obsessed with the quality of them and the simplicity of point, shoot, print.
